Nature School- Blandy Experimental Farm

Join us at the beautiful Virginia State Arboretum/Blandy Experimental Farm where we will explored the grounds. We will check out the Ginkgo Grove as well as the bamboo forest. Then we will make our way out to the meadow and talk learn about how fire can be good for certain species.

From I-66: Take Exit 6 (Front Royal) and proceed south on SR 340/522 for 1.3 miles until you come to a stoplight. Turn right onto VA 55 West for 5 miles to the small community of Waterlick. Turn left onto SR 678 and go approximately 6 miles. Elizabeth Furnace Day Use will be on your left.

Bird’s and Beaks- During this program, students will get the chance to discover what it’s like to be a bird on the hunt. We will meet at picnic shelter #1, all the way at the bottom of the hill and to the left.
