National Zoo

Greetings everyone! I'm excited to announce that we have 45 passes available for a visit to the National Zoo on Thursday, April 4th, 2024. Our scheduled arrival time is 10am, and we'll be utilizing the metro for transportation. For those unfamiliar with using the metro (like us), I'll provide a Metro Itinerary and a helpful link. If anyone experienced with the metro plans to attend, we'd greatly appreciate your assistance in navigating. I think this will be a great opportunity for the kids to experience and learn navigating public transportation, I attached a link with how the metro works, this would be a great lesson to go over at home! Our tickets allow entry at any time between 8-4pm, so there's no need to rush. 

For those joining the metro experience, We'll depart from the Vienna/Fairfax GMU Station and arrive at the Cleveland Park stop. I've been informed that this stop offers a more manageable walk compared to the Woodley Park stop, which appears to be uphill. See attached link with more info.  Inside food and drink options are available.  

Be prepared for plenty of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and attire. The weather forecast predicts a partly cloudy day with a high of 62 degrees. It should be the perfect weather, dressing in layers is advisable, as the morning might be a bit chilly. 

To reserve your spot, please RSVP with # attending, and email address for tickets. It's first come, first served, with a total of 45 spots available for both adults and students. This is a free event, just transportation and lunch costs if you decide to eat there (packed lunches and snacks are allowed).  We will meet at the front gate outside of the lion statues at 10am, and enter at 10:15am to allow others time to arrive.
