Computer/Internet Usage Policy

At our school, we recognize the importance of technology in education while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students. To ensure responsible and appropriate use of computers and the internet, we have established the following policy:

Google Admin Monitoring:

  • Our computers are monitored by Google Admin to ensure compliance with our school's internet usage policies.

  • Google Admin restricts access to websites that are not appropriate for school use, as determined by our administration.

Supervision During Free Time:

  • Computers used during free time in our dedicated internet cafe spaces are supervised by our upper grade teachers to ensure adherence to our internet usage guidelines.

  • Younger grade students will be supervised by their teachers during free time to ensure they do not gain unauthorized access to the computers.

Permission for Younger Students:

  • Children who are not in grades 4 and up will need to have written parental permission to view/access our Chromebooks and internet resources.

  • Parents must provide consent for their younger children to spectate/use school computers and the internet.

Parental Involvement:

  • Parents are encouraged to communicate any specific requests or concerns regarding their child's computer and internet usage to one of our upper-grade teachers.

  • We value parental involvement and strive to address individual concerns in a timely and respectful manner.

Limitations of Monitoring:

  • While our Chromebooks are monitored and locked down to the best of our ability, we cannot guarantee 100% protection from inappropriate content or online risks.

  • We encourage students to practice responsible digital citizenship and report any concerns or incidents to a staff member immediately.

By adhering to these guidelines, we aim to create a safe and productive learning environment where students can harness the power of technology for academic growth while fostering responsible online behavior. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a positive and secure digital learning environment for all students.
